Started by three professionals in 2011, who decided to use their education and experience to contribute to making this world a better place, Raah Foundation now is a large group of like-minded, passionate people who have come together to find a solution to some of the most pressing and complicated problems of the world and to make a sustainable difference to this beautiful planet. Over the past 6 years through multiple experiments, Raah Foundation has successfully addressed grassroot poverty and have managed to create and facilitate a better world for some of the most poor and underprivileged communities in Maharashtra.

Project Urja identifies determined needy women and facilitates micro-business opportunities for them. Over the past four years, over 300 women have become a part of this project and are confidently changing the course of their life. From a daily needs shop to vending dry fish, these women are trained extensively in the nuances of entrepreneurship and are provided handholding support till they become confident.

From illiteracy to extreme poverty, health challenges and resource scarcity, these women are faced with several challenges. These issues may seem minor to us from an urban lens, but to them these challenges go unheard. Therefore via our blog, we want to provide them a voice to erase the inequalities existing in the rural areas and present them as the empowered, ambitious women they truly are.
